CMYK

CMYK.Ready has become “CMYK”

“CMYK. Lady,” which was released early at Game Market 2025, has been reimagined as the new edition “CMYK.”
The packaging has been completely redesigned, and some of the rules have been revised.

Last time, we released it in a simple package with the motto, “Let the game speak for itself!” but this time, we’ve made sure the packaging looks just as polished.

We’ll be announcing the new edition of CMYK at Game Market 2026 Fall!
We are also accepting reservations for pickup.

What kind of game is CMYK?

You are a printer. You have paper, and the data has arrived. The only thing missing is ink.
Cyan, magenta, yellow, black. Collect one of each of these four colors to restore full printing capability.
However, if you refill too much of the same color, the ink will overflow and you’ll crash.
Be the first to get all four colors.
——Now, let’s start printing!

CMYK is a trick-taking game with a slightly twisted way of winning. If you’re a fan of trick-taking games, you’ve got to give it a try!

3–4 players / About 30 minutes / Ages 10 and up

The bigger the number you win with, the smaller the number you receive

Numbers are written on the top and bottom of each card, and when added together, they always equal 25. When you win a trick, the number on the opposite side of the card you played becomes your “scoring value.” If you win with a 15, your scoring value is 10; if you win with a 5, it’s 20.

In this trick, the higher the number you roll, the easier it is to win. However, the higher the number you roll to win, the smaller your payout. The most rewarding moments are when you manage to win with a low number. This “reversal” is at the heart of CMYK.

Turn over the cards in your hand; turn over the cards

At the start of a round, you can choose whether to flip your entire hand face down or face up. You have two options: flip them all, or leave them as they are.

You can also use “Calibration” during the game. If you discard one card from your hand face down, you can play your next card upside down. There is no limit to the number of times you can use this ability. However, each time you use it, your hand is reduced by one card.

Should I go for the win here, or take a chance and skip it? Should I optimize output, or play it safe? I adjust the printer settings while keeping an eye on the ink levels.

I want to collect all four colors. But I don’t need any more of the same color.

For each color, only one player can receive an ink token per round. The player with the highest score in that color receives it. During the round, the token is placed on top of the card held by the current leader, but this is only provisional. Someone else might overtake you at the end, or a color you don’t want might end up coming your way.

If you collect a color you already have, your ink will overflow and cause a crash. You’ll lose all the tokens of that color. Plus, since you have to follow the lead color, you can’t just run away whenever you want.
Go after the colors you want, but skillfully avoid the ones you already have. The fun of this game lies in having to think about both winning and losing at the same time.

A scattered hand of cards shapes the final stages of the game

Since your hand size decreases each time you use Calibration, the number of cards in each player’s hand will vary as the rounds progress. Players are eliminated as they run out of cards, and when only one player remains, that player continues taking tricks alone until they run out of cards.

Should you take a chance by calibrating repeatedly, or conserve your cards to prepare for the endgame? That difference will make all the difference at the end of the round.

Go for all four colors at once, or collect them little by little?

If you have ink tokens of all four colors at the end of a round, you win immediately. The number of rounds equals the number of players; if no one manages to collect all four colors by the end, the player with the most tokens wins.
